Sometimes you wonder what’s left of fashion in fashion photography. Where nudity and sexuality was often presented in an artful way, nowadays it tends to tickle the boundaries of soft porn.

It’s quite a contrast, in the 80’s big brows were the standard, but in this millenium it seems to go in the direction of…no brow. Or the bleached brow, if you don’t want to pluck them.
Last night we ended up at the Burger King (shame on us, but after an Absolut Vodka party with nothing else to drink than vodka, we desperately needed a burger) and there we spotted a girl with legwarmers.
‘What’s up with the legwarmers?’, Digitalista K. said to Digitalista M.
‘Why?’, Digitalista M. asked.
‘Well, because I see those ugly things suddenly everywhere on the street!’. Ohnoo!!! Are legwarmers a new trend, AGAIN?! We don’t hope so!
When we spotted this new trend on Coolhunting.com, we thougt it might actually become a recession-hit. Why not make accessories of LEGO-pieces. We used to be creative with LEGO when we were little (yes, even girls play with LEGO), and if Jean Charles de Castelbajac can pull it off, why can’t we, right?
You’re probably wondering who looks like the ‘scared deer in the headlights’. It’s Digitalista K after the M.A.C. technique workshop. She did not hesitate a second when a model was needed to demonstrate the party make-up. She usually doesn’t wear much more than mascara and lipgloss, so bring it on! (and she’s a bit lazy so prefered to sit down and get a make-over instead of making a mess doing it on her own…)
…..Is questionable if you ask us. We actually think it was the most horrid trend of the 80’s. Practical maybe, but seriously, looking like a kangaroo is not our definition of style. But now Marc Jacobs used these belt bags (or fanny pack if you like) in his Spring/Summer collection. And Marc tricked us before, like Nylon magazine says: ”If anyone can make a questionable piece of clothing acceptable, it’s Marc Jacobs.”
