Playing poker? Be fashionable!

Playing with Alexander McQueen

What about playing poker with The Digitalistas? Thanks to Lady Gaga we have the best pokerfaces of the world. We don’t play for money, no we gamble with designerbags, shoes and all items of Marc Jacobs. You can imagine how our closet looks like, don’t ya? Full of cool stuff!  Haha, no we’re just kidding… We can’t play poker at all and our closet unfortunately doesn’t look like the closet of  Victoria Beckham or Kate Moss. So why this story about playing poker? Well, we spotted some fashion playingcards and suddenly got the poker-fever!

Inspired by Shelter’s House of Cards ad campaign, 52 of the country’s leading artists, including Rankin, Marc Quinn, David Bailey, Henry Holland, Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood have created a unique art collection for an exhibition and fundraising auction to support the whole.

Shelter chief executive Sam Younger laid his cards on the table: “The exhibition will help raise vital awareness of the depth of Britain’s housing crisis. With an estimated 65,000 homes facing repossession this year and 6 million households suffering stress and depression because of housing costs, more and more people are coming to Shelter for help and support.”

All profits from the sale of these cards, which retail at £70, will go to Shelter. The cards are available at Harrods and on this website.

By the way, the one and only Dutch designer Hans Ubbink also gave us a package of playing cards before, with his new collection on it. So maybe we have to organize a weekly fashionable poker night? With champagne, sushi and lobster instead of beer, cheese and chips? Who will join us?
