What should we wear at the wedding of Marc Jacobs?

SPL49444_013
Aaaaah...Marc and Lorenzo in loooooove!

Marc Jacobs and his lover Lorenzo Martone  originally planned on having a very small, two-person wedding at the end of August.  It was never confirmed after the fact, though, and it sounds like that’s because it hasn’t happened yet.  Jacobs told the Times UK: “We still haven’t fixed the date but Lorenzo and I believe in commitment. We’re quite classic like that. We’ve got the license, hence the rumors that we’d already got married. So hopefully it will happen in 2010. When it does, it will be very low-key.” (source: fashionologie.com)

Would you try a Coupe du Pin?

Jak en Jil Pin

Victoria Koblenko, a Dutch actress, always looks very, well ehm, extraordinary. Especially her hair is something a lot of people talk about. We spotted her during the Glammy Awards a few months ago with a kind of weird gladiator coupe; blond short hair with more then hundred small, black pins in it. Everybody was in shock…who was that extreme diligent hairdresser of hers?!

Supporting our local brands: Kuyichi

Kuyichi Pure Denim

Apparently ‘us Dutchies’ are very good with denim. We have several denim brands gone big and international, such as G-Star and Blue Blood (the last one recently made a re-start). But we also have Denham, Diesel-designer Wilbert Das is Dutch, and we have Kuyichi. And the nice thing about Kuyichi is the organic character of the brand.

Charming Beauty Flaw: a split between the teeth

LaraStoneVanessaParadis
Lara Stone and Vanessa Paradis and their specific beauty-mark

Ever wondered why the split between the teeth of Lara Stone suddenly became a charming beauty-flaw? She wasn’t the first designer-muse with that special mark. A long time ago some girl just popped out of nothing singing a song called ‘Joe le Taxi’. Her name was Vanessa Paradis. Not a striking beauty, but a particular little bird with a good bonestructure and a split between her teeth. Then the bird got caged by Jean Paul Goude to promote the Coco Chanel fragrance. In 2003 she promoted the collection of Chanel Cambon bags, and now this succesful singer, mother, actress and wife of Johnny Depp will show off her typical smile to promote ‘les rouges’ Chanel: the gorgeous red lipsticks of the brand.

Swarovski's Holy Night line

The Digitalistas have something special with stars. Not stars like a Lindsay Lohan or so, but printed stars on bags, scarf’s and t-shirts. In London we went star hunting; we saw a great Rika bag with stars, a golden necklace at the showroom of My-Wardrobe and a scarf with stars at Zara. Finally, Digitalista M. bought a Marc by Marc Jacobs tote with stars, jippie! Maybe now you understand why we immediately fell in love with the new Swarovski Christmas Collection.

Anna Wintour: The early days

Back in the days when Anna Wintour was just ‘ Anna’ (she did not even had a bob at that time) she started her carrier as a freelance stylist. After working for Harper’s Bazaar and Savvy she joined the team of  New York Magazine. Website Jezebel found some very interesting pictures of Anna and her work in the early ‘80s. Think shoulder pads and male-fashion. I like it! (Digitalista M)
