On the eve of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, high street retailer H&M launches a very cool and affordable sports collection.
Besides launching the collection, H&M dresses the Swedish Olympic and Paralympic teams for both the Winter Olympics in Sochi and the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. The Swedish reatiler has a four year contract to create the outfits for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. The collection also includes a full and extensive wardrobe for all the Swedish teams to wear in the Olympic village for both training and leisure. The pieces are developed in collaboration with the Swedish Olympians and look really nice! To celebrate this, a special capsule collection has been developed inspired by the Olympic outfits named ‘Go Gold’ to make us look like as stylish as the Swedish athletes.
Functionality is a priority, and is evident in highly packable, lightweight down jackets, breathable running jackets, and fast-drying base layers. The collection also includes a women’s reversible down jacket with a rounded silhouette and a sporty down-filled update of the classic pilot jacket for men. There are also accessories such as sneakers, backpacks and sunglasses. Of course all items from the Go Gold collection are friendly priced. A T-shirt starts at €9,95 and the cool snakeprint down jacket (want it!) is €99.
The H&M Sport collection is very varied; from running to yoga. We were at the collection presentation last week and we’ve got ourselves a pair of sporty leggings (€24,95) to go and hit the gym in style. Have a look at the pictures below.
