Forget ombré hair… ombré lips are where it’s at this season. For Spring ’14, we saw ombré lips on the runway at Nicole Miller and Kenneth Cole, and absolutely fell in love with the look.
To achieve the two-toned look, you’ll need a darker lip liner (for the outer edges) and lighter lipstick (for the inner lip). Apply the liner along the lipline and in the corners and blend it towards the center. Then brush the lighter lipstick color into the middle of lips, blending it into the liner to create the gradient appearance.
Not only does the result look super cool, but it also plays an optical illusion to create the appearance of fuller, juicier lips.
