Cultural activity: The Amsterdam trail

On our to do list for this long weekend: The Amsterdam Trail.

The Amsterdam Trail is coming – for the third time in a row – to town! You’ll find a beautiful mix of ethnographic and contemporary art in many galleries in and around the Spiegelkwartier area in Amsterdam. We like the interaction between non-western and modern art.

Some pieces of art you’ll definitely have to see: the statues of artists Heringa/Van Kalsbeek mixed with ethnography, the ritual Batak objects made by Joost van der Toom (showed at Kauri New Guinea art) and the art objects of Bertjan Pot which are inspired by a special braid technique in a Abelam mask. Lots to see!
