We visited the press day of Dutch fashion, beauty and lifestyle brand/warehouse HEMA to have a sneak peek of the SS12 collection.
Our favorites: the knitted puffs, the outdoor carpets (instead of indoor, handy to spice up your roof terrace), ingredients to create your own garden full of herbs (healthy!), the plastic champagne turquoise glasses and even a wine bottle-to-go made of plastic instead of glass (very handy when you’re in your way to a Summer picknick).
HEMA opened the first store in 1926 and is renowned for it’s quality basic products. Not just utility products, but also in the food-segment HEMA has become very famous for the ‘rookworst’. (Smoked saucage to eat with winter comfort food like ‘stamppot’ -mashed potatoes, green cabbage and gravy.)
No worries if you’re not living in The Netherlands. HEMA opened up a store in Paris (near Les Halles) in 2009, and we believe there will be more international affiliates to follow (you can also visit the one in Antwerp).
