Shows like the one from Chanel are better to be seen up close. And we already posted twitpics from our fashion-colleagues anyway, and now we can see for ourselves that Baptiste Giabiconi hasn’t lost an inch of sexiness looking like a Yeti.
And the iceberg (a real one from Sweden) looks better on video too. We only have one comment for ourselves: Dear Karl, we also want to look like Chanel Ice Princesses wearing icicle heels, soft white cashmere sweaters, cosy tweed ensembles, snowball bags and (fake) furry polar bear coats with matching boots. Viktor & Rolf and dressing their model on stage is something we’ve seen before. They have dressed up Maggie Rizer to a Russian Matroesjka-like doll wearing 70 kilos of fabric back in 1999 for their Fall/Winter Couture show, and now they’ve peeled of Kristen McMenamy like an onion from the 22 layered outfits she was wearing (an online newspaper described her metamorphosis going from tent to Yeti to playboy bunny!) while the other models undisturbedly made their walk and put on one of her layers, to reverse the whole thing afterwards and dress Kristen up again.
I’m a huge fan of Liv Tyler. It started when she featured in the Aerosmith video with Alicia Silverstone, and thought: those girls are cool! I also tried to photograph her in New York during Fashionweek (unfortunately my pic didn’t turn out so well) and she’s as sweet as I expected. She posed calmly for the photographers while they were stumbling over each other trying to get the perfect frame.
And now ‘pretty’ Liv stars in the G-star RAW campaign. Seen through the lens of photographer Anton Corbijn. A well known photographer with a ‘raw’ style in his photography.

The world leaders don’t seem to have come to an agreement at the climate top in Copenhagen. Meanwhile, the gletsjers are still melting, sea-levels keep rising, coral reefs are dissapearing… Some supermodels thought they might help by making this video. Who said political issues couldn’t be sexy? Hopefully it does create some awareness, not only for the world leaders but also for the rest of world population. It surely made us think about the subject…
