Meet some motherf*ckers from New York City: Semi Precious Weapons. The support act of Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour. We saw them performing live yesterday at the Gaga Concert and where a little in shock. Especially by the lead singer. Think: Perez Hilton gay but then a little bit thinner, with a cool rock voice but wearing nude tights, golden high-heels and a tong at the seem time. Gay Glam-Rock like you never seen it before…
He makes ‘punk-meets-posh’ jewelry according to the New York Times. American jewelry designer Eddie Borgo‘s star rises fast. Opening Ceremony was one of the most inspiring shopping-finds in New York when I was there in February last year. An online shop wasn’t available yet, but now it is! The Soho-located shop reminded us a bit of SPRMRKT in Amsterdam. Interesting labels, collaborations and stylish personnel are a common thing for both shops.
Opening Ceremony also has a muse: Actress Chloë Sevigny. Known for her distinctive sense of style, Chloë Sevigny has designed a collection for Opening Ceremony, since Spring 2008. She finds her inspiration in nostalgia for her early days in New York, high school thrift store finds, and music by Depeche Mode and the Slits.
