As an extra celebratory addition to today’s International Women’s Day, we’re going to tell you all about the inspiring power women we’ve encountered at this year’s Eastpak press tour (March 5).
So during these current Press Days us Digi’s have seen a lot. We visited some (Amsterdam based) PR firms to take a sneak-peek for the new SS15 collections of Calvin Klein jewelry, Uggs, Tosca Blu, Wemoto, Eastpak, Edwin & WE, and HUGO BOSS amongst others. We already saw a lot of inspirational stuff but sometimes, there’s this one item that catches your attention.
Can you make an educated guess on what happens if The Digitalistas are out coolhunting for trends with Eastpak? We’ll give you one more hint: Eastpak is the main sponsor of Rotterdam-based Motel Mozaïque Festival. Now you do the math.
2014, the days of a thriving economy unfortunately are long gone. If anything, the phenomenon of fast food chains massively arising is a well-known one. Things got worse when the eruption of ‘fashion fast food’ started to conquer the greater deal of Dutch cities. Now what we have known for a long time is that Rotterdam is a city of innovation.
My first memories of EASTPAK, brings me back to high school. Everybody had an EASTPAK! Not as spectacular looking as they do now, but oké (well in fact, my friend had a pink one…Yes, in our village, a pink bag was very rare). We pimped our bags, by putting personal notes on it. Think signatures of friends, kisses from the boy you had an eye on, etc. Nowadays, the EASTPAK collection is so diverse, that you don’t have to spice it up with a big, black pen anymore. No, young, talented designers clear the job for you! It’s nice to see, that a brand with just one main-product, stays up-and-running for years and years. I know for sure, that if I go back to my old high school, the kids will still carry an EASTPAK. If not? Tip: just visit the new Amsterdam based EASTPAK Icon store on Hartenstraat 23. The Digitalistas are real party-animals. From high fashion cocktailparties to danceparties…we love it! Now this weekend the ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event) will kick off, and it’s the perfect occasion for Eastpak to celebrate the collaboration with Ed Banger Records on October 22nd during the ADE.
