Guess what my Levi’s ® Curve ID is?

What’s my Curve ID?

It’s an ‘in between’. Like my shoe size. I am always somewhat of an in between. My Levi’s® Curve ID is in between the Slight and the Demi Curve. But honestly, after trying on several different Curves, I ended up with a Slight modern skinny. The most figure-hugging of them all, and the way I like my denims. If that makes me a less curvy girl at thirty-something, I shall not complain!

The occasion of the fitting was the Levi’s® Curve ID pop-up shop in Amsterdam, while they’re building a new shop. This one is especially for the girls, and they only sell the Curve ID products (aside from a few T-shirts and denim blouses, but we don’t need measuring for those). It’s clever thinking of Levi’s®, because you’ll get all the attention you need to find your perfect match. More after the jump >>>

Catch of the Day: Chanel quilted denim sneakers

Chanel denim quilted sneaker

While M. and I are still drooling over my friend L.’s Chanel 2:55, we have to find a more affordable alternative until we can buy one ourselves. This might come in the shape of this Chanel denim quilted sneaker. Okay, it’s not a bag, but the fact that these sneakers are quilted, makes us feel a bit closer to the o so wanted bag…(or it could be a form of wishful thinking).

The sneakers also show some similarities with the Ked’s, but let’s be honest, these are Chanel, and that’s way cooler!

Hit or Miss? The comeback of the dungarees…

Dungarees at H&M

H&M has a pair of leather and flowerprint  dungarees in the Spring collection, and we sort of like them. Even if it’s not the most flattering thing to wear for a woman.

Dungarees used to be worn by feminists, and are called a ‘tuinbroek’ in Dutch (translate: garden pants). It actually says enough about its purpose, a great outfit for when you’re gardening!

The perfect jeans 'butt' thanks to Paige Adams-Geller

Paige Adams-Geller: Paige Premium Denim

She’s originally from Alaska, and went to highschool with Sarah Palin ( yep, that one). After being the most booked fittingmodel for the world’s best jeanslabels, she started her own business: Paige Premium Denim.

We interviewed Paige Adams-Geller at the Modefabriek where she presented her already very succesful label.

Alexa Chung for Pepe Jeans

Alexa Chung for Pepe jeans

We’re big fans of Alexa Chung and her original fashion sense. And we are not the only ones. The girl was elected Style Icon of 2009 by Vogue and Mulberry even named a bag after her, so no wonder that Pepe Jeans wanted her as the face of the S/S 2010 campaign.

The pictures have a fresh and relaxed vibe, just like the collection where you’ll find a lot of bleached denim.

Vivienne Westwood X Lee jeans

Vivienne Westwood X Lee jeans

Vivienne Westwood is collaborating with Lee jeans on a denim collection as part of her Anglomania collection. This is very surprising, since Westwood claimed ‘hating jeans’. In an interview with the Telegraph last year she said this about her granddaughter Cora (who wears jeans ofcourse): ‘She’s really conservative. I’m very disappointed in that. She wears jeans. I think jeans are terrible…’

Victoria Beckham relaunches denim label

Victoria Beckham Denim

Victoria is giving her almost vanished denim label a rebirth. Formerly knwown as dVb, it will now simly be called Victoria Beckham Denim.

The jeans were given a high-end makeover, and are sharper and sleeker than the original dVb’s. Not to forget the super slouchy boyfriend jeans, that probably gave her back the ‘denim-credibility’. In the range there are also sixties sweet pastel cigarette pants with contrasting inserts. She even goes beyond jeans with a range of leggings in bright colours.

Supporting our local brands: Kuyichi

Kuyichi Pure Denim

Apparently ‘us Dutchies’ are very good with denim. We have several denim brands gone big and international, such as G-Star and Blue Blood (the last one recently made a re-start). But we also have Denham, Diesel-designer Wilbert Das is Dutch, and we have Kuyichi. And the nice thing about Kuyichi is the organic character of the brand.
