During the topmodel-era in the early nineties, artists made a habit of filling their music videos with Naomi’s, Cindy’s, Helena’s, Eva’s…etc. I guess George Michael was the record-holder – he managed to put them all together in a video (Freedom)- but iconic rock band Duran Duran were actually the first to use models in their clips (Simon LeBon even married one of them). Now they’re pulling the same trick two decades later with a 9 minutes short film in collaboration with Swarovski Elements. The video for ‘Girl Panic’, directed by Jonas Akerlund features the 5 topmodels who made a body switch with the band’s members (except for Yasmin LeBon, she’s an anonymous guitarplayer). She’s only 15 years old, but I l really prefer her version of Bon Iver’s ‘Skinny Love‘. Thanks to an Open Mic-competition in the UK which she won when she was 12, her career got pro-pulsed rapidly. ‘Skinny Love’ has been around the UK charts for quite a while, but it’s only recently that we hear it on the radio on a daily basis here.
Meet Maru, the most amazing, cutest, biggest, furriest cat ever. And he can join the circus any time. Or Jackass….

Maybe that the name Trish Summerville doesn’t ring a bell, but the name of writer Stieg Larsson probably will. Trish is the costume designer of the film ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’, based on the first book of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium-trilogy.
Lisbeth Salander, main character in the book, served as a muse for a 30-piece collection. It’s edgy and urban, consisting of leather jackets and trousers, hoodies and ripped jeans, in black, grey, washed whites or dark reds. The collection will make its official debut at Colette in Paris on November 28, and will be available in Divided departments in approximately 180 H&M shops worldwide and online, starting December 14th.
We introduced El Rod a little while ago. So we’ll skip the introduction this time, because you can read it here. But we do want to keep you updated about what this ‘out-of-the-box’ artist has been up to. He has released an EP this summer, named Art Nouveau, in conjunction with jeanslabel Wrangler. Now a Deluxe version of the EP has been presented, from which the single ‘She likes it’ has an actual video. The first one in a set of visuals that will be released.

…Like they did last Saturday. A local swimming pool in Amsterdam transformed in an ephemeral tropical island overnight. Digi K was there. Pictures will follow in her diary soon. For now, enjoy the video. And see what you’ve missed, or relive the poolparty of your life…
What we like about Philip Lim’s style is that little edgyness on minimalistic designs. He gives a visual styling insight on how to wear some of his men- and womenswear items exclusively for The Corner. Watch it here.
Yesterday evening, one of our favourites of the Dutch fashion scene, Claes Iversen, presented his Spring/Summer ’12 collection in an empty office-building. The show started with a short black & white video, featuring the Dutch actress Liz Snoyink.
The theme of the collection is based on the lovestory of a woman and her meticulously composed wardrobe. But it also underlines that fame and wealth go hand in hand with loneliness and transciency. Claes took some famous 5th-Avenue-ladies as an example like Jacky Kennedy, Nan Kempner and Mona von Bismarck; rich, upper-class figureheads, that posessed impressive private couture-collections, and at the same time their lives were marked by loneliness and melancholia.
