Sweet Escape

Source: Nylon Magazine
Source: Nylon Magazine

I spotted a nice and (literal) very sweet  feature on Nylon.com about all the international candy the Nylon staff prefer. And for all those people who know us well; we loooooove candy too! (and cupcakes, and pizza, and sushi and starbucks and champaign and wodka and…) Most fun was finding out that bookings editor Eveliene Joos, who is Belgian, likes Chokotoff from her native Brussels. Guess what; those are my favourites as well!

Ready to Uff?

Uffie

On our quest for some ‘digitalistic’ music we stumbled upon Uffie. Who the f* is Uffie?? Well, she’s not exactly a singer, but more of an MC. But not the least because she worked together with Justice, Mr Oizo, SebastiAn and Mirwais (who produced Madonna’s American Life album, TD). She’s the new electro princess of Ed Banger records!

Stylish with your Starbucks

Azumi and David muff for your Starbucks cup

Digitalista E. has a Starbucks addiction. Digitalista K. almost has one, especially for the skinny vanilla latte. Imagine if more Starbucks were coming to Amsterdam. (we only have one at Central Station)

We found a stylish solution to hold your sizzling hot Starbucks cup, designed by Azumi and David. It’s a muff that comes in gold, silver or black.

Ladurée X Colette

Ladurée X Colette macarons

Parisian palace of delicacies, Ladurée is well known outside Paris for its refined pastry, and especially macarons. And we must admit that besides adoring cupcakes, macarons are also delicious.

Did you ever taste macarons tasting like cotton candy? No, then you’ll have to try these. Especially for Colette, Ladurée made macarons with cotton candy flavour, and they come in a charming box with polkadots.

Great concept by The Cool Hunter: McFancy

McFancy by The Cool Hunter Access

At the start of the new year, The Cool Hunter will be launching ‘Access’: A dedicated entity that will continue their work of creating highly original, transformational, yet eminently practical and results-oriented strategies for companies to stage the kinds of offline brand experiences that will increase the economic value of their offering.

You really have to see this great concept they’ve come up with: McFancy, an upmarket temporary McDonald’s store that launches at Fashion Weeks around the globe — London, New York, Paris, Milan, Sydney, Hong Kong.

Talking accessories and stuff…with Henning Kern from Dyrberg/Kern

Dyrberg/Kern S/S 2010

Take a cosy lobby at an Amsterdam boutique hotel, and a passionate accessories-designer to talk about his work and the new Dyrberg/Kern collection. Result: a coffee-time encounter with Henning Kern, one half of Danish designer-duo Dyrberg/Kern about the crown-jewels, a British soccer team and the latest jewelry-trends.

We like! Ellen von Unwerth for Absolut Vodka

Kate Beckinsale for the Absolut Vodka 'Crush'

Absolut Vodka is maybe the most fashionable Vodka brand. I remember drooling over a picture of Marcus Schenkenberg in the Swedish Ice hotel photographed by Herb Ritts, in an Absolut Vodka/Versace-insert of the French Vogue, which also featured Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell back in 1997.
