Dutch designer Anne de Grijff started her first atelier in an old chewing gum factory with two artists and a product designer, but decided to move her studio to a space in the center of Amsterdam at the Rozengracht. She also teaches at the Rietveld Art Academy, so this workspace makes it easier for her to switch locations.
Kelly Cutrone was visiting Amsterdam where she was invited to speak at the TedX Women event. Busy as she is -she was just back from China, went to New York to see her daughter Ava, and then flew to Holland- she took the time to fit interviews, a Q&A and a booksigning in her crazy schedule. Every inch a PR-lady.
We dished up some questions and dilemma’s for this woman of the world….
This fine restaurant – Maison Estate – is situated in Franschhoek, South Africa. Furniture designer Chris Weylandt built this family vineyard and created some of the interior by himself. The huge chandelier in the Tasting Room caught our eye. This one is made full of old recycled wine bottles!
It is actually one of my favourite songs from Sting. ‘An Englishman in New York’ can be interpreted in many ways, and I was very much inspired by the way UK brand Ben Sherman translated the theme in their A/W ’12 campaign, in collaboration with Dazed & Confused. It’s always nice having Americans visiting our home town. Especially when those Americans turn out to be celebrities. Sara Longoria – well known for her appearance in America’s Next Topmodel (ANTM) – is here for the whole month and the Digi’s had the pleasure to catch up with her.
Paris based creative company Surfaco To Air (STA) combines contemporary art, fashion, music, photography, design and graphics. The brand collaborated with creative talents such as DJ and model Leigh Lezark, photographer Solve Sundsbo, electro band Justice and British style icon Daisy Lowe (check out the video in here).
