So given that I have two weddings within the next three weeks (one of which is my own, eeek!) I figured it’s the perfect time for lash extensions!

Wake up in the morning and voila, you’re ready to go – and you can literally claim “I woke up like this!” I mean … just check out my before and after photos!
I got my lashes applied by Lashes by Nien, a home-based studio in Amsterdam centre that offers various types of lashes for very reasonable prices. The owner, Nina van Veluw, will inspect your natural lashes and give advice on what’s best for you; I went for a new set of one-by-one extensions, which look beautifully natural with a bit of extra glam. She also offers 3D extensions if you prefer more volume and curl.
It’s totally painless to have them applied (though you do need to be prepared to lie still for about 1 to 1.5 hours). Once they’re on, there’s no need for mascara (woohoo!) and you can continue with just about all your normal activities without any side effects – though it is best to avoid oil-based products around the eye area. You can even go swimming with them, which makes them perfect for summer vacation.
