It’s settled where they opened their first shop 30 years ago: on the corner of the Koningsplein and the Reguliersdwarsstraat in the very heart of Amsterdam. We’re talking about the new, reopened designer shoe-heaven SHOEBALOO.
If you sort of lost track of it -as we have written about reopenings and flagshipstores and such- let us explain: the shop in the Leidsestraat has closed and the location of the flagshipstore has expanded and been divided in a women’s and a men’s shoe shop. They are now adjacent, and this is what SHOEBALOO’s CEO, Marlon Streim, has to say about it:
“Ladies like to shop in a calm and private setting, yet men like to walk in and out. This is why we aimed to create a suitable shopping experience for both the ladies and the gents. Now each client is able to shop in the way he or she wants, but of course parallel to each other.”
The left entrance is for the men’s shop which was reopened last year, and the right entrance is for the newly, just opened women’s shop. Makes sense now, right?
MVSA Architects are responsible for the design of both shops. Opposite to the bright men’s shop, the women’s shoe sanctuary is constructed of black marble; two extremes that blend together as one. Like the yin and yang in the shoe department.
And there’s even more reason to lure you in: SALE has started!! We’ve got our mind set on a pair of leopard calf hair pumps from Gianvito Rossi, snake Chelseas from Isabel Marant and cillinder heel sandals from Givenchy. How about you?
Find the SHOEBALOO shops at Koningsplein 5-7.
