“From TV… most of the time I’m at Julius bar&grill in Amsterdam and I travel a lot as well, to do demonstrations and cooking workshops at the Kookfabriek for example. On top of that I’m very busy with a new cookbook.”
How will Julius Jaspers celebrate Christmas this year?
“I’m starting my Christmas with cooking at Taste of Christmas. After this I will be relaxing at the beach in Oman with my family (wife and two children aged nineteen and twenty). Just nothing on my mind; instead of entertaining I’ll be with my feet in the sand thinking of a wonderfully grilled fish.”
What does Julius Jaspers Christmas dinner look like?
“This year I’m going to let my senses be surprised by the Arabian Cuisine. It’s a bit strange for me, and it’s the first time for my family to celebrate Christmas with Christmas trees in the desert instead of in the snow.”
What is his golden tip for the ultimate Christmas dinner?
“KISS. Keep it simple and stupid. Make something that you’ve made before. Make it the day before or on the morning itself. Divide your dishes over the capacity of your oven and burners so that everything can warm up easily and at the same time. Keep in mind: guests are especially coming for the atmosphere, the warmth and the coziness. If the food is also delicious and the chef is relaxed, the night is an unforgettable one.”
