Cocktail Countdown

Cocktails_quote_etsyAs NYE is approaching and some of you possibly like to celebrate this event with a nice cocktail, we thought we’d give you some inspiration.

3 days to go before the actual countdown, so we give you three cocktail recipes with three different spirits: Belvedere Vodka, Patrón Tequila and Grand Marnier.

1. Belvedere – Peachy Bottoms Up!

HarpersBZ_uk_Peachy-Belvedere_cocktail

Belvedere is the vodka brand of choice for Mr James -shaken, not stirred- Bond, and where he prefers his drink to be strong and simple, we like to add more taste and flair to it. Our Belvedere cocktail of choice is the ‘Peachy Bottoms Up!’. Easy to make and in style with the turn of the year as it contains champagne from one of our preferred houses, Veuve Clicquot.

How to prepare:

30ml / 1 oz Belvedere Vodka

30ml / 1 oz peach puree

Top Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label

Combine Belvedere and peach puree in a tin and shake with ice. Fine strain into a chilled flute and top with Veuve Clicquot.

2. Patrón – XXXCafé

Christmas is not the only occasion for a copious dinner. The turn of the year is often celebrated with good food. A good suggestion to conclude the meal before kicking off the night’s festivities is with coffee. So what about a nice coffee cocktail as an alternative to a dessert or predictable ‘coffee-with-licquor combo’s?

Coffee flavored ice cream

1 tsp of finely grined coffee beans

3. Grand Marnier – The French Artist

GrandMarnier_TheFrenchArtist_cocktail

The well known classic French spirit Grand Marnier, recently launched a new limited edition bottle. Its founder, Louis-Alexandre Marnier-Lapostolle, commissioned French artists to design the bottles from the very beginning of the Maison existence, around 1927. This tradition is still honored today, and the 2014 bottle is a true reflection of the spirit’s country of origin: France. The ‘French Flavour’ is represented in the design  by the colors of the national flag, and an according cocktail imagined by mixologist Julien Lafond.

How to prepare:

30 ml/1 oz Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge

15 ml VSOP Cognac

15 ml dry Vermouth

20 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice

20 ml homemade red currant- vanilla syrup

20 ml egg-whites

Garnish:
Red currant with sugar glaze

Pour all the ingredients in a shaker and shake without ice to obtain an emulsion. Add the ice and shake thoroughly. Strain mixture twice and pour in a Margarita glass. Decorate with the garnish.

We hope to have inspired you with these for a succesful NYE celebration. Cheers!
