We don’t count many couturiers that make us dream away by the sight of their dresses. Addy van den Krommenacker is an exception. No wonder he can count Hollywood stars and royalty amongst his clientèle. We were delighted to have lunch with him for the launch of the special edition of his fragrance.
Red Carpet evokes the lifestyle of a glamorous and sensual lady, ready to conquer the red carpets in a sumptuous creation. With fresh notes of bergamot, tangerine and blood orange that refer to the feather light chiffon dresses. The heart of the fragrance is rose; as unique as refined lace. Honey sweet mimosa and seductive ylang ylang empower the richness of silk brocades and exclusive shantung, fabrics which are often used in Addy’s dresses.
The celebration of this special edition was held in a private dining room at the Pulitzer Hotel. A table set with beautiful flower arrangements and personalized bottles of the fragrance awaited us. Aside from the lunch, Addy shared some anecdotes of his Hollywood adventures, and we got spoiled with some gifts from Pupa cosmetics, L’Anza haircare and Absolution Creative Apothecary. Brands that have been partnering with the designer for years.
What sets Addy apart from other couturiers is his grounded and friendly personality, but also his perfectionism when it comes to his brand image. It took him three years to perfect the Red Carpet fragrance into a subtle and timelessly elegant perfume (because it should in no way be too overpowering) and he succeeded.
The special edition of Red Carpet by Addy van den Krommenacker comes with a little extra: a black clutch to complete the red carpet -or in our case ‘holiday’- looks. The clutch worth of €110 can be purchased for €24,95 together with Red Carpet 50 ml Eau de Parfum.
