Zenology at Skins Cosmetics

photo 3I love to travel but cannot stand it when hotels have poor quality bathing products on hand – I’m shocked to say even some of the most posh hotels I’ve visited have only a detergent-filled drugstore brand of shampoo available.

Jeroen Oude Sogtoen felt the same way. So he created Zenology, his own indie line of eco-friendly, botanically-sourced products and sold them to some of the best hotels around the world – from the glamorous Le Cavendish in Cannes to Amsterdam’s own College Hotel. You can even find these goods on KLM and Jetstar flights!

Zenology has three delicious ranges of products available: Camelia Sinesis (black tea), Fycus Sycomorus (sycamore fig) and their newest launch, Citrus Nobilis (mandarin green tea). The ranges include cleansing body wash, hand wash, hydrating hand and body balm, lip balm, nourishing shampoo and revitalizing conditioner. Packed full of vitamins, the ingredients are made from renewable sources such as jojoba seed, aloe, mandarin and tea.

Zenology’s philosophy is based on a “care and consider” mind set; no skin-unfriendly ingredients are included, from parabens and solvents to mineral oils, synthetic colours and petroleum. All products are produced and packaged as eco-friendly as possible; on that note, the packaging is minimal and chic – sure to elevate the appearance of any shower.

My must-have is the Zenology travel set, which includes refillable bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body balm in a gorgeous leather travel kit made local artisans at the Guild of Holland.

Since Zenology became so popular, it’s now available in store at Skins Cosmetics locations. Check out the entire Zenology collection online or in store.
