Since I moved to Holland three years ago, I’ve been on the hunt for the best hairdresser. After numerous failed attempts (re: chocolate brown highlights in my bleach blonde hair!) I’ve finally uncovered the secret: Salon B. With locations all around the country, Salon B is a premium salon with amazing service and skilled staff.
My appointment began (as all appointments begin) with a consultation with my stylist, Floor Mulder, to discuss my expectations and wishes. Before I revealed what I had in mind, Floor also offered her expert opinion – and it was almost as though she read my mind. She immediately picked up my style (trendy, but not too over-the-top) and that I need a cut that’s easy to style given my busy lifestyle. Given the ghastly re-growth at my roots, she recommended a highlight touch-up in colour tones that were spot-on: a mix of angel, golden and honey blonde, topped off with a special glossing coat to boost shine and seal in the colour. She mentioned channeling the Olsen twins’ look – which is uncanny given my love for their style – with sun-kissed blonde and perfectly tousled layered locks. Floor also suggested a fresh styling update, not losing too much length while giving my hair an extra boost of layers and volume. And as per Salon B’s philosophy, once the client and stylist have discussed the plan, the stylist will also review the price of the treatment (so there are no surprises at the end!)
Floor proved to be an expert colourist with tons of knowledge, so I was in very capable hands! She meticulously applied the highlights in three different tones, for a multi-dimensional effect. After letting the colour sit, she washed my hair in a sleek, ultra zen wash room. It was actually the first time I’ve even seen washing beds, so it was a very relaxing, comfortable hair wash (with no neck cramping!) While a special glossing mask absorbed into my hair, I received an amazing scalp massage that had me relax right into a little catnap.
After a little trim, Floor gave my hair an amazing styling using Salon B’s own “Undone” products. I have fallen in love with the line, which has been designed to give hair messy look that’s not too perfect. Click here to read my review on the products. Half an hour later, my hair was looking fab-u-lous. And I was beyond ecstatic with the result: the colour was bang-on perfect, and Floor even applied it in such a way that the next time I’ll only need a half-head touch-up (which saves me time and money!) Which lends to the question: who doesn’t want a hairdresser like that?
