A big trend we’ve noticed the past year were the -as we name them- special interest subscription boxes. It started with beauty boxes filled with product samples, and now you’ll find boxes in many fields of interest. Quite logically, food had to be incorporated in such a box concept.
There was one on particular that caught our attention: Food We Love.
We. Love. Food. There’s no doubt. But in terms of a box, we like it to be inspirational and have tasty and appealing recipe suggestions for the available products in the box. And Food We Love provides just that! There’s a different theme every month, for which the specific products are selected, but the Food We Love-team also involves food experts to ‘curate’ a specific box. We received the ‘East meets West’ box, inspired by Middle-Eastern cuisine, which gained popularity thanks to the books of Yotam Ottolenghi. Included in the box are recipe cards (with attractive imagery, very important when it comes to food and actually get us cooking), and different products to create those tasty dishes. There are five products in total, and the offer always consists of a consumption-ready item (chocolate, cookies, snacks), something easy to use for your next meal (such as a special kind of pasta) and a long conservation product (oils, vinegars, chutneys).
