Netherlands-based cosmetics brand Oolaboo has just introduced its newest line of products, called Super Foodies. The line is based on edible, essential nutrients extracted from super foods, such as goji berries, pomegranate, pumpkin seeds, cacao and quinoa.
These foods have an incredible amount of nutrients in them, from vitamins, minerals and polysaccharides, to amino acids and antioxidants.
Regularly consuming super foods can have a positive effect on our bodies – including skin, hair and immune system – but Oolaboo’s laboratories have discovered the power they have if applied directly to hair and skin. The 18 products in the line range from moisturizing shampoo and conditioner to skin cleasers and moisturizers.
At the heart of every product is matcha, the oldest and rarest tea from Japan, which has extraordinary powers that are much more potent and powerful than normal green tea. One gram of matcha also has six times more antioxidants than goji berries, seven times more than dark chocolate, 15 times more than pomegranate, 17 times more than blueberries, 26 times more than acai berries and 50 times more than broccoli.
At Oolaboo’s salon in Amsterdam, a new matcha ritual has been added to the menu list, and it’s based on four basic Japanese principles: harmony (wa), respect (kei), purity (sei) and tranquillity (jaku).
