Copenhagen shopping guide

As promised, my little Copenhagen shopping guide

Because of the cold and my short stay, I have focussed on the area around Strøget -the city’s shopping artery-, with a variation of fashion and interior shops.

Along the Strøget you’ll find the high street brands (H&M, Zara, Monki, Weekday, Vero Moda, Jack&Jones, Aldo shoes etc) and department stores like Illum. The best is to criss-cross the Strøget and make a tour around the Kronprinsensgade, Grønnegade and Pilestraede.

These are the shops you’ll find at the Kronprinsensgade:

Hej Hej
For a mix brands -Danish seem to like the French brands like By Zoé and Zadig & Voltaire which you’ll find here- from clothes and accessories to home fragrances and beauty products; they sell the Embryolisse model miracle cream.
Nota Bene (Kronprinsensgade 10)
No wonder I got drawn into this shop. It’s all about shoes! From Sigerson Morrison, Opening Ceremony, Alexander Wang, Marc by Marc Jacobs, See by Chloé, Barbara Bui and their very nice own label Nota Bene.
Stig P (Kronprinsensgade 14)
Another good example of a mixed labels shop. Stig P proposes an array of Scandinavian (Allez Allez, Storm&Marie, Rock ‘n Blue, 5 Preview) and international brands, in a variety of basics (Filippa K), streetwear (Adidas, Reebok, Carhartt) and designer second labels (Sonia by Sonia Rykiel, Vanessa Bruno Athé). Besides clothes and accessories you’ll find beauty (Malin + Goetz, Nailstation nailpolish) and interior accessories (cushions, throws and towels).
Envii (Kronprinsensgade
A cool and affordable Danish label, very popular amongst bloggers. They just did a collaboration with Trines Wardrobe and Sofies Blog.
Acne Studios (Pilestraede 40)
Brandstore of the coveted Swedish label
iiL7 (Ny Østergade 19)
A conceptstore with new, upcoming and established designers and a their own clothing line described as ‘cutting edge design with clean lines and fresh details’.
Holly Golithly (Gammel Mønt 2 -clothes- and St Regnegade around the corner for accessories)
This is your stopover for luxury brands. Think Proenza Shouler, Balenciaga, Alaïa, Dolce&Gabbana…They also have a webshop.

Casa Shop (St Regnegade 2)
All design furniture and accessories as we like it.
5 Elements by Karen Simonsen (St Regnegade 3)
Offers two lines of designer Karen Simonsen: the main line on her own name and 5 elements. Aside from that you’ll find Italian and French brands and shoes, bags and jewellery from Italy.
Lot #29 (Gothersgade 29)
A luxury designer boutique – a cave of collected passions. A gem for all treasure-hunters looking for handpicked items. Owner Cecilie Kølpin also develops her own cashmere line ‘Bad Habits’.
Then there is the Grønnegade and around for luxury brandstores like Marc Jacobs  Collection (Grønnegade 1) and Christian Louboutin (Grønnegade 6).
Wood Wood (Grønnegade 1) -in between avantgarde and streetwear- sells Comme des Garçons, Kenzo and Junya Watanabe, Opening Ceremony, Levi’s Vintage, New Balance as well as their own label plus the collection they’ve designed for Eastpak.
Kassandra (Grønnegade 27 -named one of the best shoe shops by CN traveller) features shoes from the premium fashion labels such as Prada, Lanvin, Stella McCartney, Chloé, Miu Miu, Jimmy Choo… and a range of bags from the same labels.

A very nice lifestyle concept store in the area is Rue Verte (Ny Østergade), which houses beautiful furniture, interior accessories & textiles, clothes, and even a Joe & the Juice! Find there interior webshop here.

Pilestraede is quite varied: from a HAY Cph (Pilestraede 29-31) shop, Le Crueset brandstore and raw food bar 42Raw (Pilestraede 32)  to fashion:
Whyred – A Swedish brand taking good tailoring, contemporary music and the art world as its point of departure (Pilestraede 35)
Norr (Pilestraede 36)
Norr  is part of the Metropol fashion and lifestyle group, with fashion brands like Margit Brandt, St-Martins, S’NOB de Noblesse and Norr11, and Strandlyst Hotel & Restaurant.  The concept of Norr combines Metropol brands and lifestyle pieces. Norr also has shops in Rome, Istanbul, Stockholm and Thalin.
