He is the most friendly designer around, and his very obvious French accent when he speaks English is a delight to listen to. So a trip to Rotterdam was on yesterday’s calendar to attend Jean-Paul Gaultier‘s visit to the Kunsthal.
He came in the night before in the ‘customized’ Thalys train (complete with stripes and all) because he personally wanted to be present at the opening of his exhibition ‘The Fashion World of Jean-Paul Gaultier‘ and have a chat with the fashion press.
As many of you might have seen in other interviews or documentaries about the designer, he’s extremely talkative! Which is very convenient for journalists, because there are many pages to fill with what he has to tell.
But we are not going to bore you with a prosy story that you’ll be able to read in most magazines soon, so we’ve made it mashable. 5 facts revealed by the master himself:
1. When he was little he thought of becoming a pastry chef
2. One of the first dresses he made consisted of Fillipine placemats
