Time for some waxing…
As waxing is becoming more popular in Holland, new studios may be popping up – but there’s only one fool-proof solution. Delete opened in Amsterdam before the ‘waxing boom’ and has been a pioneer in Holland’s waxing revolution. Offering services to (literally) cover head to toe for both men and women, the salon and its staff are true waxing professionals.
Delete’s most popular treatment is the legendary Brazilian wax, which I experienced last week. Don’t be scared – I have a low pain tolerance and survived to tell my story.
Upon arrival, staff are super friendly and take care of extra details like a free bottle of water while you wait for your appointment. You will also be given a wet wipe before your treatment begins to freshen up (much appreciated after a long day of work).
The wax itself is quick and the staff – aka ‘Waxing Angels’ – will make you as comfortable as possible. They see everyone’s intimate bits all day, every day, so there’s nothing to be embarrassed about!
The salon is spotless and chic, with sleek black, white and gold décor that really adds to the treatment. Delete also has its own range of products for at-home care, which can be helpful to extend your wax and protect your skin. My must-haves are the Soul Scrub – a delicious pepperminty scrub that’s safe to use on sensitive skin – and the Cool Sense after care cooling cream.
Delete offers full body waxing for men and women (even boyzilians!) plus facial threading. It has two locations in Amsterdam and Utrecht, with another set to open in Rotterdam later this year. Expats will be happy to know the salons are open seven days a week!
