Feed your brain

Having a hard time to keep your head together? Are you forgetting stuff? Maybe you need a boost for your brains!

You probably know the saying: ‘You are what you eat.’ In many cases, this appears to be true. Several studies have shown that certain foods can positively influence the brain. Some of the nutrients in these foods go right to our brain cells. Isn’t that interesting?!

Maybe it sounds too good to be true, but the right food can help us improve memory and even (to some degree) prevent dementia. Obviously, eating brain foods won’t suddenly turn you into a genius or a Nobel Prize winner, but adding certain foods to your diet will definitely help your brains to function better.

These healthy foods can “feed your brain”:

1. Berries
Full of memory-boosting nutrients and preventing the damage of your brain cells.

2. Cherries
Nature’s own little anti-inflammatory pills!

3. Apples
Contains a group of chemicals that could protect the brain from the type of damage that triggers diseases like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.

4. Curry
It contains curcumin, which has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

5. Eggs
Eggs contain of the most important nutrients for building better brains: choline.

6. Sardines
They contain omega-3 fatty acids, which maintain brain function from early development throughout life.

7. Oysters
These aphrodisiacs are rich in both iron and zinc, which keeps your brain on edge.

8. Cocoa
That’s no punishment! Eating flavonol-rich cocoa can improve blood vessel function, boosting circulation throughout the body and blood flow to the brain.
