Review: The Waxing Company

When I first moved to the Netherlands, I couldn’t believe how unpopular waxing is in this country! I was naturally elated when I discovered The Waxing Company – the first shop in Holland to specialize in women’s waxing!

I visited the Amsterdam salon last week for a treatment and was impressed by the friendly service and experience in general. The shop space itself is also super cute, decorated with crisp white and feminine pink hues that help you feel at ease. Services offered include body and face, including Brazilians! If you haven’t had a wax down there before, it’s definitely worth a try (especially in summer months). Most of the stress is to do with your own nerves leading up to the appointment, when in reality it’s really unnecessary. Yes, there is some pain for a few seconds – not as bad as you might think. And at The Waxing Company, the consultants really try to put you at ease and help you relax. It’s not awkward, it’s not embarrassing; keep in mind, these are professional waxing consultants and do this all day, every day!

Most ladies remain smooth hair-free for about two weeks following a wax, which is great if heading on holiday. You won’t get bumps or burns like shaving can cause. Give it a try and see for yourself; reap the benefits for weeks after!

The Waxing Company has locations in Amsterdam (de Pijp), Utrecht and Almere. Click here to see the menu and prices.
