Digitalistic designer: Glenn Martens

Our Dutch Fashion Tradeshow ‘Modefabriek‘ is a good place to spot new brands and talents. One of the designers to showcase his work at the Cutting Edge platform is Glenn Martens.

This young designer is originary from Bruges, Belgium and studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in Antwerp. Before launching his own label during the Prêt-a-porter in Paris last February, he worked as a junior designer for Jean Paul Gaultier (women’s pré collections and G2 Men’s collection) and as head designer for several European labels such as the capsule collection Bruno Pieters + Weekday (Scandinavian label soon to open a flagship store in Amsterdam, TD) and the personal collection for the Honest by‘ label also for fellow-Belgian Bruno Pieters.

His designs propose minimalism and contrast captured in graphic tailoring. Especially the contrast in materials is apparent; airy silk fabrics combined with heavier textiles.
