We’re fascinated with Carrie Closets (walk-in closets) and therefore we shot the amazing closet of Edwin Goudens den Handel. You can imagine how envious we are!! “New York has Little Italy, I have my own Little Harrods!”
One look at his closet and you’ll know it: Edwin loves Louis Vuitton. He just can’t get enough of it: his first pair was a Keepall 45 bag. “I’ll still take it with me all over the world: from Schiermonnikoog (Dutch island in the North, TD) to Japan.” Maybe Edwin got fascinated by his childhood memory: “My mother had an amazing bag collection!” In his walk-in closet you’ll find “plenty enough shoes to wear for every occasion.”
TD: Tell us about your walk-in-closet.
“My partner wanted an Ikea closet, but I wanted to use the whole space from floor to ceiling. Someone customized it for us,we had an instant click. It has become the typical man’s closet with room for suits, coats, shirts and ties.”
TD: When a fire breaks out, what do you take with you? Your dog or your Louis Vuitton bags?
“That’s a trick question!”
TD: No, seriously…
“My dog for sure. Although, at one time when the fire alarm went off I was the last to leave the building , hobbling down with all my ‘Louis V’s’ in my arm. I had just moved in here, and had not met my neighbors yet, but they know me ever since… Besides, the dog was already secured.”
