Parisian Théophile LeClerc founded the company in 1881, when he worked in the basement of his pharmacy to create products. Here, he discovered the exceptional lightness of using rice powder as an ingredient in makeup. His products were sold through the Belle Epoque – a huge hit in Paris’ upper class who used the powder to obtain a flawless complexion. Today, the Loose Powder is still the brand’s star product (though it also has a slew of other goods for skin, eyes, lips, cheeks and nails).
The powder is available in 30 shades and is packed in an adorable vintage-style silver tin. The lightweight powder naturally matifies skin, evening complexion without weighing down your look. Start by applying your foundation and let it set a few minutes before gently brushing a layer of powder.
