Models were quite literally looking blue at Stella McCartney’s fall 2012 show in Paris last week. As McCartney’s collections are consistently synonymous with clean, neat and ladylike, the minimalistic approach was on cue with her token aesthetic.
Superstar Brit Pat McGrath created the makeup palette, saying, ‘It’s all about the subtle details.’ She gave eyelashes a chunky, blue coating, achieved using CoverGirl’s 24-Hour LashBlast Mascara in black, then topped with a custom-made blue gel.
Models wore hair in a matte chignon, completed with Wella’s Ocean Sprita Beach Texture Spray; a few wisps in the front added texture.
Otherwise, models’ faces were relatively bare (clean skin and matte nude lips), allowing the lashes to stand out. Perhaps the neutral, somewhat athletic look was inspired by Stella’s recent work for the Olympics?
