Dutch designer Jan Taminiau showed his two collections ‘Jan Taminiau Demi-Couture’ and ‘Jan Taminiau Haute Couture’ during the Amsterdam International Fashion Week’s kick off Wednesday night. The Digitalistas were – ofcourse! – present.

Taminiau ‘s first one – called ‘Separates’ – was a pretty wearable collection: different pieces can be mixed easily with each other, for any occasion. It was a romantic collection we immediately fell in love with.

Taminiau showed the second one – ‘Irradiance’ – during a light show with heavy music at the background. This collection was hand made, futuristic, with colors like white, silver and lots of grey. And we loved the strong shoulders! You couldn’t see the models’ faces – the idea behind it was ‘to hide’ ‘to reveal’ and ‘to change’ – so the catwalk show felt like a mystery. The whole atmosphere and the covered faces felt just like the show of Bibi van der Velden. And also a little bit like the Mummification collection of Iris van Herpen last year.
