When terrible things happen, like the earthquake in Haiti, everybody starts creating charity projects. Which is a good thing, but the fashionbusiness is a billion dollars business that could do a bit more than they’re doing right now. The only ‘fashion-related’ charity projects we’ve seen lately are more personal initiatives like the fashionshow of Sarah Brown and Naomi Campbell, and the CFDA initiative (including Diane von Furstenberg, Tory Burch, Ralph Lauren…). Maybe we’ve missed something, but did all the big groups like PPR, the Gucci group and LVMH make a donation already?
It’s mostly celebrities that start initiatives like recording a single (Robbie Williams and his Take That mates), designing t-shirts (Lady Gaga) and actress Scarlett Johansson created a bag for Mango. She felt like she needed to do more than just model for the Spanish brand.
The canvas special edition bag will retail at approximately €25,- and will hit the stores in March. We will get one, are you?
