In the Boyzone: Milan Menswear wrap-up

The Menswear shows are already full throttle in Paris, but first a little wrap-up from Milan menswear. What was shocking, interesting or simply very goodlooking?

D&G was all about skiing and fun. So a lot of ski- and snowboard outfits, complete with big boots, chunky knitted scarfs, Norwegian jumpers, fur hats and ski goggles. But also some nice velvetty suits for the evening, or just a nice blazer paired with skipants. It could have been James Bond; from ski pursuit to the Martini ‘shaken-but-not-stirred’ bar. D-squared made their models look like they came out of some sort of fightclub. A bit scary, and it takes away the attention from the clothes. Gucci had a real 60’s British ‘mod’ feel to it. Slendered trousers, sharp-cut suits, turtlenecks and large cardigans and dufflecoats for that typical silhouet. The shoes were mostly slip-on chunky mocassins or lace ups. Materials varied from velvet, leather and corduroy to knits. Colors were warm like plum, navy, cognac, beige and chocolate. A leopardprint showed up too. Some british bands might want to refill their wardrobe with these nice Gucci items…

Versace

The first thing that came to mind seeing the Versace collection was: The Matrix. All black, futuristic and lots of leather. Especially leather trousers seem to be a big hit for the guys next Autumn/Winter season. The few prints that came by were somewhat ‘galactical’.
