Tested: M.A.C. party make-up look

Deer-in-headlights
A deer in the headlights...whoops!

You’re probably wondering who looks like the ‘scared deer in the headlights’. It’s Digitalista K after the M.A.C. technique workshop. She did not hesitate a second when a model was needed to demonstrate the party make-up. She usually doesn’t wear much more than mascara and lipgloss, so bring it on! (and she’s a bit lazy so prefered to sit down and get a make-over instead of making a mess doing it on her own…)

The comeback of the belt bag…

beltbags
Belt bags from Yana bags NY, Marc Jacobs S/S 2010 & Louis Vuitton S/S 2010

…..Is questionable if you ask us. We actually think it was the most horrid trend of the 80’s. Practical maybe, but seriously, looking like a kangaroo is not our definition of style. But now Marc Jacobs used these belt bags (or fanny pack if you like) in his Spring/Summer collection. And Marc tricked us before, like Nylon magazine says: ”If anyone can make a questionable piece of clothing acceptable, it’s Marc Jacobs.”

What should we wear at the wedding of Marc Jacobs?

SPL49444_013
Aaaaah...Marc and Lorenzo in loooooove!

Marc Jacobs and his lover Lorenzo Martone  originally planned on having a very small, two-person wedding at the end of August.  It was never confirmed after the fact, though, and it sounds like that’s because it hasn’t happened yet.  Jacobs told the Times UK: “We still haven’t fixed the date but Lorenzo and I believe in commitment. We’re quite classic like that. We’ve got the license, hence the rumors that we’d already got married. So hopefully it will happen in 2010. When it does, it will be very low-key.” (source: fashionologie.com)

Would you try a Coupe du Pin?

Jak en Jil Pin

Victoria Koblenko, a Dutch actress, always looks very, well ehm, extraordinary. Especially her hair is something a lot of people talk about. We spotted her during the Glammy Awards a few months ago with a kind of weird gladiator coupe; blond short hair with more then hundred small, black pins in it. Everybody was in shock…who was that extreme diligent hairdresser of hers?!

94 wines.com: a unique wine concept

94 wines

Blame it on my French roots, but I have a soft spot for good wine. For instance, I enjoyed a very delicate Valpolicella the other night. (wine experts know this is a good wine). And now there is a new wine concept that caught our attention: 94wines.com. Both bottles and wines are unique. You can even have a personal message written on your bottle.

Marlies Dekkers UNDRESSED cotton

Lingerie-designer Marlies Dekkers is known outside the Dutch borders. Several artists wear her designs like Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, the Pussycat Dolls, just to name a few.

In 2005 she launched a comfort line based uniquely on comfortable cotton tops and bottoms for men and women: UNDRESSED cotton. With winter coming up, Marlies wants to pamper her customers with a 3 for 2 action: you buy two items from the cotton collection, and you receive a third item for free!

Never forget that although someone may wear an article of clothing, a shoe wears you.

Despite the difficulty of clomping around in bamboo stilt Prada wedges or a patent leather construction that resembles a japanese dominatrix’ interpretation from Nina Ricci, the platform twin-towers are wearing us with a vengeance.

My on-again, off-again love affair with chunky high heeled shoes may seem ridiculous for some people. But when you consider the risks of wearing them, it starts to make sense…

Dior Christmas tree @ the Claridges hotel

Dior Xmas tree claridges
Sketch of the Dior X-mas tree for the Claridges hotel London

The Claridges hotel in London is a wonderful classic heritage hotel. We have been there for the Mulberry show and afterparty, and were very impressed. There’s even a lady handing you a towel in the ladies room…We’re not used to that luxury here!

But despite the classic character, the hotel also wants to move forward, and now- for the first time in their 112-year old history- they collaborated with a designer to design the hotel’s Christmas tree. John Galliano has the honors in the name of Dior.
