The Digitalistas talked with the lovely Susie Bubble

I (Digitalista M) interviewed Susie Bubble before, I think two years ago, for an article about the new upcoming phenomenon fashion blogs. At that time she was already big,  (not big like fat big, but big like popular big), but not she is even more.  The AIFW asked her personally to fly over to Amsterdam to judge the Lichting 2009 show, but also to enjoy Dutch Fashion. Hallelujah! We were so excited. We didn’t only met one of our favorite bloggers, it also showed that bloggers are becoming more and more interesting for fashion brands and pr-offices. We still work very hard on that every single day…

After the Lichting show I spoke with the always funny but great looking Susanna Lau alias Susie. I asked her why they invited her. Susie was very honest about that: “It’s not especially that they were looking for a blogger. They just wanted to have international press from London. I think they saw me more as a journalist then as a blogger because I also write for Dazed magazine. But still, I also think that it is nice to see that time is changing. Bloggers become more and more important and influential. Two years ago, I was the only blogger they invited for London Fashion Week. Now there is a whole group of passionate bloggers. I think this will only become more. Fashion labels are still a little afraid for the fact that bloggers post anything they want. Also negative reports if that is necessary. Personally I don’t do that much. If I don’t like it, I don’t ‘write about it!’

And what do you think of Dutch fashion? ” I love it! It’s not like I haven’t seen Dutch Design before. I already know Matthijs van Bergen en Iris van Herpen and I love their creativity and spirit.’
